Please note! If you need help with your MBTA reduced fare Charlie Card or have questions about these cards, please call the MBTA at (617) 222-3200. TTY users can call (617) 222-5854 or (617) 222-5146.
First, the hours for the Charlie Card Store will change to 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday only.
Second, it will now take 6-8 weeks (rather than the current 4-6 weeks) to receive a status letter regarding a TAP application. The TAP Charlie Card is used by people with disabilities; it is similar to but not the same as the Senior Charlie Card and/or Reduced Fare Charlie Card.
And finally, the Charlie Card Store will no longer process transactions that can be completed at a fare vending machine. Such transactions include adding stored value or a purchasing a monthly pass. If you need to do these sorts of transactions, you can use a fare vending machine at any station where they are located.
