The TRIPPS program was begun in 2015 in Brookline and Newton, Massachusetts, with the underlying concept that most seniors need individualized, personal support in order to transition successfully from being a driver to being a passenger.
Our goal has always been to reduce isolation and loneliness in the senior population—the majority of whom have relied for most of their lives on driving as their primary means of getting around. We know that when driving becomes difficult or impossible for elders who have been dependent on driving, their community connections dissolve and their social lives slowly fade.
Whether you’re a senior, a caregiver or loved one, or a professional in the field of aging or transportation, TRIPPS is here to help.
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or suggestions. We are constantly updating and enhancing our website with new information, and we would love to hear from you!
TRIPPS is a USDOT 5310 program funded by a Community Transit Grant
from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
